LOCKDOWN IS BEING LIFTED, NOW WHAT?

Updated: Nov 26, 2020

As lockdown restrictions are gradually being eased many businesses have been able to re-open. We are thrilled for our clients in the hospitality industry who have had the green light and for those still not able to open there is at least a light at the end of the tunnel.

So, how should your marketing adapt as you open, or prepare to re-open?

We were advocates for staying visible on social media since COVID-19 brought the country to its knees, and those that did, should now be able to reap the benefits. However, if you used the lockdown as an opportunity to take a break and step away from your business completely to do some baking or binge-watch the latest TV series we can't blame you and fear not, you can make you come back just as good.

Social Platforms

Most business owners are probably cautiously approaching their re-opening with slight trepidation. What do we need to put in place? What if we miss something? How can we keep everything safe and still turn a profit? Guess what, your consumers have fears too and what we hope to see is support from customers instead of judgement. And so, it comes back to the notion of all we believe social media marketing to be and what it creates. We preach to anyone who will listen that social media is NOT a quick fix. Social media marketing is part of building a community for your business and right now that community is looking to you to for reassurance. Use your platform to talk to your customers (engagement) and involve them in what is going on. Provide information on what your customers can expect on their next visit and how any services will have changed.

Website

Now is the time when people are starting to venture out more and make plans. If you have caught their attention on social media, they are likely to check out your website. Make sure that all your information is up to date and relevant to the current situation. Make sure there is quick access to any information about the changes to your services and you can use your website to go into deeper detail. Your website should be mobile-friendly, quick loading and easy to navigate. Did you use the lull in business to vamp up your website? If so, then it is your time to shine! If not, what you waiting for?!!

Cheeky bit of branding

You will probably need to incorporate some sort of PPE into your workplace. We love keeping things on-brand so why not take the opportunity to add a cheeky bit of branding into anything new you are bringing in? Even signage can be in your colours with your logo on somewhere. Yes, all these extra things are a pain the bum, so why not have a bit of fun with it and get some branding in there too? Because....why not?!
